Great approach diving in to the methodology of the Hiring process.
Labs were insightful. Material from both the lecture and course e-manual were thourough.
It's fast-paced, but I did enjoy the learning components.
I am very hands on. I like to see the components, instead of the labs if the instructors could have walked us through the prompts so we can see it while see exactly what we are doing. This course is good. Just not for me. If I pass it's because of the outside studying, also reached out to a tech to learn some. Wish I did before the course. Also hard to ask question if you don't know what is right.
The PenTest+ course was informative and provided a solid foundation in penetration testing concepts, methodologies, and tools. My instructor was phenomenal and demonstrated an excellent understanding of the material. However, I believe the course would benefit from more interactive exercises, challenging labs, and opportunities for independent problem-solving. While the guided lessons were useful for introducing concepts, I would have liked more opportunities to apply what I learned in realistic scenarios that required troubleshooting, critical thinking, and developing my own approach to solving problems.
I think the instructor did a good job teaching the material. I think the material itself was adequate to above adequate. The labs were for the most part beneficial. There were a couple of labs where we didn't do what was advertised in the description (the one that comes to mind was dealing with cloud access). The lab questions were frustrating because they sometimes counted your answer wrong if you didn't have certain words capitalized or in a very particular order. Also, some of the lab questions had nothing to do with the actual lab objective. The exam prep was very inadequate. Several questions were close to identical. The explanations lacked details on why answers were wrong. I believe there are several questions regarding tailgating that are incorrect. I also think the difference between pivoting and relay creation needs to be explained better. Including the Certmaster Courseware was very beneficial. I score 100s on the exam prep but the courseware questions I don't do as well on and seem to be more along the lines of what I will see on the certification exam.
What worked well: The career services support, specifically the refresher on building a strong resume. Areas for improvement: The course pacing. The main topic usually requires a few months of study, and squeezing it into two weeks made the learning experience feel overly rushed and difficult to digest.
