This should be a course that you choose to take if this is direction you want to go. Do not feel that it is absolutely necessary even if being brand new to IT. If you had project management aspirations then I think its a great course to take along with other ITIL courses related to this,

To my understanding there used to be access to more CompTIA materials directly and those should be placed back into the curriculum

Overall the ACI Core 1 1101 class needs to be updated with the CompTIA 1101 Objectives. There is no reason in the current bootcamp style of training to include outdated information regardless if this information was relevant 4 months ago or not BUT no longer meets the testing standards for the current Objective.

Make the course longer. Don't over-exaggerate about how students who finish with these courses will have a job in no time, studying for these certification exams takes several, several days and hours to prepare for. I started with ACI in January and have only two of the six certifications I desire. I've been applying to jobs for weeks since I obtained my A+ and still no such luck.

One knock on this process was breaking us into study groups. I found this was ineffective. Instead of everyone collaborating on the material at hand everyone just wanted to do their own thing. Because of this I don't see the value of these study groups. Another gripe I have is this is 2nd time I did not automatically get the Mid Course evaluation. I had the same issue with 1101. I had to send an email to Client Svcs to rectify this situation. I feel that I should not have had to this in this first place. I hope the process is fixed.

SEC+ should be Instructor lead for at least 50 hrs. Just PPT presentations, damping information and setting the students to do half the learning on their own can be overwhelming. I doubt I can recommend ACI to any industry. My overall experience has lead me to create a memorandum for record to the DVA.

The material provided is tremendous and if labs are regularly redone, it makes for a real word, job-ready training, as those skills are immediately applicable to situations at work. Most of the labs are in fact situations that are dealt with on a daily basis in cloud environments. In fact, I will do some of them a few times over to feel more confident and just in case showcasing is required during an interview.

Overall, this is a great course. The outdated materials were annoying, but Mr. Tinn masterfully overcame the obstacles and presented the material with deft skill and understanding. I would definitely take more classes from Mr. Tinn. I hope the material catches up to the current level for the future classes.

Besides personal issues that happened with me outside of the course. This course was good to go.

It's not the best course out there but it's on you'll definitely learn a good bit from. Helpful and somewhat fun!
