A really useful training session from Tim. He was full of knowledge and expertise which I'm sure will prove very useful for my role as a Trading Standards officer.

I believe the in face sessions are beneficial to cementing the knowledge being presented. I believe the case scenario was relevant to the day-to-day job requirements of AHOs and SVIs. There are anomalies in the legislation regarding photographs being taken. The subject of writing notes and internal procedures also needs to be addressed (physical note taking vs notes on a phone).

Thank you very much for today, I enjoyed this and learnt a lot. It would have been good to have examined and assessed a report prepared by an expert witness for the purposes of court. We had some reports to look over but they were not prepared for court. While a lot of learning could take place, there was possibly some missed learning. I appreciate that there is the issue of confidentiality, but there could be ways around this so that this is not compromised.

The only reason I did not put 5/5 overall was because my focus is SEND tribunal and this was not an area covered by today's course (I thought it was). I did find the guidance for that during the day, however, and most of the content was applicable. Thank you for some excellent and enjoyable training.

I would have liked a part of the course to have looked at the use of objective vs subjective language. I suspect some of this would be covered in the cross-examination course, but I think it would have been useful to have a section about this here.

I thought this was overall a very good training session which helped me in understanding what would be required of me as an expert witness (something I am completely new to). There were a few technical glitches and delays, where I would suggest approaching delegates prior to the course to request to submit an advance any prior anonymised reports that could then be incorporated into the training pack/allocations to ultimately streamline that element, as the scenarios were very helpful.
