Kudos to the speaker and MISTI for helping to make sure everything went smoothly when Mark didn't make it past customs! The distance learning option worked OK the first day, and I know there was a lot of effort spent getting him there for the rest of the time. Venue was great! Food was good. Thanks for upgrading. Course was OK - Some materials weren't updated. The learning focused on the basics (prerequisites listed on MISTI's website didn't really apply). I was hoping to dive deeper into how to implement the framework (materials were a list of basic requirements that could have been pulled off of the NIST website). We finally started getting into the "meat" of it by the last day, but spent too much time on the basics and ran out of time. Instructor was great about promising to share templates/etc. with us, which will add value when received.

Not advanced course as you mentioned at the website

Overall, the course provided some good information and checklists to use for future auditing assignments. However, the material did not delve into more recent technologies (i.e., data lake/Hadoop infrastructure concerns) which would have been very beneficial. Additionally, the delivery of the material could be improved, since it was largely "death by PowerPoint." The instructor did add some applicable stories or analogies to make the material easier to understand, but it was hard to stick with the material towards the end of each day due to the delivery.
