I found the legal side extremely interesting and Tim brought this to life really well for us. Within my role, the legal side is probably not as important as it would be for some of the other delegates but understanding the framework will support approach to interviews going forward. A lot of the information was similar to how I would already approach an interview but served to underline the correct process.

I think the course would be more relevant once you had 2 or 3 years experience. Would have been useful to know we needed a completed case for the 1 day event. The case law was useful but maybe a little too much of it. Would have been useful to have some HMRC examples. The Court overview was good but most of us have attended Court a lot in our jobs so things like a Map of the courtroom were a bit too basic (great if you have not been before) Would have liked the cross examination section to be a bit more specific to a s16 statement rather than generic cross examination. The course director was very knowledgeable and used her own examples to make the course more interesting.

I found the course useful, especially as is twa tailored to my team. This meant any discussion or questions asked were relevant to my work.

I am always a little challenged by role playing! Some video material and more examples of statements would have been helpful. Sad not to have heard more about Treasure and Henry II but realise these are very personal concerns!

This course provided me with an enhanced awareness of the court room setting and my potential role, as an Expert Witness, with in it. Notes and Trainer's presentation and responsiveness were very good. Per haps some video examples (live or mock) of Cross Examinations could be used to illustrate Techniques and Tactics to aid the visual learner. For example video's of poor/good body language, appropriate/inappropriate responses would prepare us better for the real event.

Would have been better for the course to provide examples of case reports - this could have saved some time in delegating groups to look through each case. however the exercise within itself was great - to be able to see the report in the eyes of the judge.
