Making a difficult subject feel safe, approachable and manageable is the provider’s distinctive strength, according to attendees. They consistently praise knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who explain clearly, invite discussion and create supportive, non-judgemental spaces. Courses combine practical frameworks, realistic conversations, workbooks, videos and useful resources, with a well-judged pace and breaks. Enjoyed this course despite the subject matter being very difficult to manage. As an acute practitioner for most of my life this course was a good reminder that suicide is not an everyday risk that other practitioners deal with.

I really enjoyed the course thank you. I do feel a lot more confident than I did but can never say I feel 100% confident in discussing suicide with someone.

Steve is a fantastic instructor. This is the second course I've attended where he has been the trainer and I would look to book on to courses he is delivering. He is unflappable, and has such a great skill of knowledge and delivery technique.

Before the course I had low confidence in helping someone out. Now I am sure I could make a difference, and give a person more options, the hope to stay alive, and the will to move forwards. Valuable training. Thankyou Ian.

Response: Many thanks Andy, I am very glad to help you on your personal mission to be a high quality suicide first aider and advocate.

Overall the training session was beneficial, however for myself and my team who are professionals in a Mental Health Team I would have hoped to go into more depth and detail of suicide and suicide behaviours.
