This course was such an eye opener. Learning that there is a way to intervene to help and listen to people who have thoughts of suicide need people to notice them.

The course was extremely useful and thought-provoking. The tutor was very good at explaining the content and ensuring that there was a clear focus throughout whilst consistently checking that everyone was okay as the topic was heavy and something that can easily upset.

Shian has an excellent way of delivering the content in a compassionate yet informative way. She was always open to answering additional questions and gave some great extra context where needed. The course was great and gave some much needed structure to having these difficult conversations.

I feel this was a very informative course and will aid me in supporting the customers I work with. it has also given me other things to think about such as safety plans and mindfulness of the language I use

The course was very informative and I learned a lot. The video with Campbell's phonecall was very important as it's something that we could relate to, as we are phone agents. The guide provides a lot of guidance and prompts that I can look to when I'm stuck on a call

Shian was our tutor for today’s session on the Suicide First Aid training we had for our work place today. I really appreciate her approach, her focus and her drive to give people the tools to help us handle these difficult topics. I feel she handled this with care and made the day as nice as it could possibly be. The main take aways I got from this session is that it is so important we recognise these feelings people may have and deal with them with care and confidence. Thank you so much for taking the time Shian to educate us on such an important topic. Keep spreading the word and making a difference!

This course is very useful and important. The main thing I learnt was to really listen and not come up with a plan or cut the person off. I really found the video useful of how the agent handled the call.
