Very informative and gave me more confidence if I was to be in this situation and made me evaluate my own mental wellbeing

I hope I don’t have to use the skills highlighted for someone who wants to take their own life but I think that the skills transfer easily to peer support that I provide most working day and during my volunteer work at a stroke support group. Things we do as an organisation really well already but great confidence boost

A great course which initially I was worried might trigger some feelings from a past experience, which to begin with it did, but it was at a depth that kept it informational and made it normal to talk about without emotion. Helped me to understand my past experience a little more and also how I could help others, including being aware of it for my own children. It was also useful to understand boundaries and responsibilities.

Good re enforcement and enhancement of suicide awareness along with previous MHFA knowledge

Not an easy subject to discuss and very emotive and at times distressing but I do feel that I could now recognise the signs and potentially help someone who may be having suicidal thoughts.

Darren was very informative with knowledge in the correct background to my role

Darren talks very passionately about a very taboo and sensitive subject. However, he does this in a professional way and clearly with the background knowledge to support the delivery. It is hard to deliver a course to professionals who have dealt with suicide intervention if you haven't experienced it yourself.

Great, informative and beneficial. Will help me on spotting individuals that may contemplate of suicide. I like the bit on how we can approach and speak to individuals in a manner is empathetic and looking into ways to sign post individuals to help with there mental health issues.
