It really was an excellent course, I'm less worried now about how to approach the subject of suicide, or saying the wrong thing, as I now know that it would be difficult to say the wrong thing, not saying anything at all has the potential to be a whole lot worse! The tutor really did engage with us all, we all had different experiences, were coming at it from different perspectives and the tutor was able to keep us fully engaged from beginning to end.
Completing the course through 'Teams' could have been difficult due to the sensitive subject matter. However, we were all made to feel welcome and after a short period of time felt like a cohesive group.
In class would have been more rewarding only because interaction would have been with the whole class. I feel a lot more confident now and believe I would have the confident to take a step like Neil if it occurred.
Very good course, well structured, gave interesting points about talking to people about suicide and knowing the tell tale signs.
Enjoyed the course, very informative, would recommend.
Absolutely brilliant course. I really do feel more confident to begin a conversation about suicide if I have an inkling that someone may be having thoughts of ending their life.
