Trainers consistently turn detailed subject matter into clear, engaging and practical learning, using humour, discussion, demonstrations and real-life or lived-experience examples. Attendees value their knowledge, patience, inclusivity and willingness to answer questions, while clear materials and well-structured delivery make complex topics easy to understand. The course was of little or no benefit for implementing change in a dental practice setting and provided far less useful practical guidance than was gleaned from the level one online training. It was undoubtedly the most pointless course I have attended in over 30 years, and the thought of having to repeat this along with our whole team every three years is pointless. There are really important areas completely missed out that could/should be included in this training. For example many persons with ADHD have Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria, and I always bear this in mind when I see ADHD on a medical history. There was no mention that ADHD patients may be better in the afternoon, or may require flags on the notes to ensure carers/parents etc are included in appointment details to ensure that essential appointments are attended. So many missed opportunities, the course is simply not fit to impose on the dental sector. Ensuring the whole dental team is well trained in this important area is essential, but the course and slide show currently miss the brief.
