It didn't really teach anything new The time we received was wrong people were all informed of different start times The refreshments were only 1 coffee per person The chairs were awful to sit on for over 5 hours The whole experience was not a good one

No engagement meaning people felt deflated and sleepy.
The course drifted away from the actual difficulties faced by Oliver and his parents, we knew about Autism it did not address the difficulties that Oliver’s voice was shut down and he wasn’t even given the chance to talk. Oliver had strong advocates, paperwork even letters from other professionals but the clinician and Dr chose to ignore these. The venue was poor people were actually falling asleep. The chairs uncomfortable 1 drink throughout the day. We had to sit in the most uncomfortable surroundings - our disabilities were not even thought about. Very poor planning, very little content. We need to have been shown how to empower the people we support and how to advocate, interactive training not just sat and talked at for 7 long and painful hours, at one point I found myself sitting on the floor to get some relief from the pain I was suffering. The course dhould have been a mix of professionals Dr, Gp’s Nurses not just the support workers, Dr are put on a pedestal we need tools to be able to allow the people we support to voice them. We needed role play and where we stand by law or stop Dr administering medication.
Morning presentation was majority irrelevant, no interaction - being talked at.
It was interactive, and accommodative of everyone
