Unfortunately as day 1 did not meet my expectations or needs my rating have tried to balance the poor delivery of day 1 with excellent delivery and content of day 2 in my ratings above. At the beginning of day 1 session i wondered if the presenter was ok and still wonder if how she delivered the session was as a result of how she was feeling. As the content and plan for the day was so heavily deviated from.

Unfortunately the first days training was not very successful at all and if possible the course would have been rated on each day as this is unfair to trainer, Max, who delivered the second days training. Our organisation fed back our concerns about the first day - this would probably have rated as 1 star! It should be noted that Max was much better and followed the script/process as expected. He used the break out rooms and delivered the session as I would have expected from an external provider. He was knowledgeable and engaging and delivered the course well!

First training day was inadequate. Trainer was not knowledgable, ill prepared, chaotic presenter, disorganised. 2nd day- max was knowledgeable and organised. However the course was too simplistic for those who have experience of undertaking IMR’s

Second day was much better than the first which is reflected in the scores. Second day benefited from the breakout rooms and the trainer was more engaging- felt like I learned soemthing on the secod dya

The first day was very disappointing and I would have only given 1 star however Max pulled the 2nd day out of the bag to make up for it

Day 2 v good day 1 was limited to reading the stat guidance on screen

I think the course would have benefited from more case studies and exercises. A lot of the mid morning / early afternoon content was reading from the manual and this could have been done as pre reading. The session where we all discussed reports was much more useful and interesting.

The course is a good starting point for very new managers, that have perhaps had little experience.

Although very knowledgeable with years of experience, the trainer referred to the handouts the whole time. No independent slides had been created by the trainer (which previous trainers from units 3 and 4 had done) This would have helped to provide interest through the use of practical examples experienced by herself. Sharing of such experiences/examples of past cases helps the course be more engaging and memorable. I found the course hard to follow as we kept flitting from one course book to another on the screen. Also the page numbers didn't match. Day 2 was more interesting when we watched clips of witnesses speaking at hearings from previous cases. This helped cement the learnings provided and I feel we would have benefitted more from this. The time we spent doing role play in the coroners court was also very useful and enjoyable. As with all the assignments this assignment is very long and the questions are difficult to understand as to what is actually required when completing your answer.
