I really enjoyed the course. I found Sue very engaging and enjoyed her approach to learning. It has only been marked 4 our of 5 overall because it's on Teams and I do struggle with a course being delivered this way. This is not a reflection on the trainers.

There is a lot of information to take in within the 5 days. I enjoyed group participation and this ensured I thought things through and could apply what had been learnt.

I found the Giving Evidence – Witness Familiarisation training very informative and beneficial to my role. The session provided clear guidance on the expectations when giving evidence, and the courtroom role‑play exercise was particularly valuable. It helped reinforce the practical skills required when presenting evidence, responding to questions, and maintaining confidence under cross‑examination. Overall, the training was engaging, well‑structured, and has improved my understanding of courtroom procedures and my preparedness for giving evidence.

I think the course could be improved with videos showing good and bad technique when faced with different challenges on cross examination. The role playing is fine, but not everyone can participate. And model behaviour would be best demonstrated with examples that can be observed.

excellent course. Could be a little more interactive

Excellent to have a chance to develop a deeper (rather than shallow) understanding of specific aspects.

The type of fraud (excise fraud and missing trader fraud) is a world away from the type of cases we work in OCW.

I had completed the pilot just over a year ago, and this course is a marked approvement. Previously there was a big cross over with courtroom skills but that has now been removed and the course is much better for it. Trainer is very knowledgeable and is keen to share that knowledge and does so in a manner that is very easy to digest. The DS section could be longer to explain as I feel there is a gap in knowledge that I have noticed within my team. Not sure you require all of the pre-course reading. A case summery instead of the MG03, then the schedules, would probably be sufficient.
