Overall my experience has been good however the organisation was poor. After sending induction forms and meal forms in on time the information had no been passed to relevant persons and thus I had no pass assigned to me, and queued twice to obtain it from the visitor centre. This is after I had double checked via email that I had sent all information through and no further action was required. Meal choices had also not been passed forward. Course delivery/content - John was professional and approachable. The content was a little text heavy, some animations or videos would help balance this out a little. However the course was enjoyable and I would attend further training at the Faraday centre.
Chris and Phil had interesting experience gained advise and stories that made the course flow and there own detailed and practical understanding made the difference! The course flow was perfect and the course content was good. The delivery and technical understanding of both instructors was excellent and they made it fun too
Positives - Well presented course notes, very professional and friendly instructor, excellent practical room. Negatives - course notes contained many errors, both grammatical and information errors. Course was not specific to offshore operations or the equipment we work on. Course was essentially a repeat of SAP 1 & 2. Instructor was not given enough time to adequately prepare for delivery of the course. Lack of communication/ liaison with RWE offshore safety Rules team seemed to be the root of the problem. RWE Operation Safety Rules in the course notes were not the current version. All in all, the course needs a complete re write to be more relevant to our work activities. We were not able to physically do any practical, live testing... we need to practice actual, live testing, not just watch it being done.
