Making a difficult subject feel safe, approachable and manageable is the provider’s distinctive strength, according to attendees. They consistently praise knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who explain clearly, invite discussion and create supportive, non-judgemental spaces. Courses combine practical frameworks, realistic conversations, workbooks, videos and useful resources, with a well-judged pace and breaks. I got a lot out of this session - new ideas - but also crucially some reassurance that I was doing things right too. A client who presented as suicidal agreed to contract with me not to end their life while working together - it gave us the time to explore options and what brought them to this crisis point.

Training was thorough covering a difficult topic from many angles. The personal contribution of direct experience was particularly powerful.

I 'enjoyed' the course, I thought it was informative, sensitive enough to follow continually & emotionally controlled. I thought Ian Phillips delivered the course well & the other attendees were encouraged to contribute fully, without being forced to participate if they weren't comfortable doing so. I hope that i never need to use the skills learnt, but at least if a situation were ever to arise, i would be more equiped mentally to assist.
