It's very useful to have learned a step by step guide and approach to help people who might have suicidal thoughts.
I enjoyed the suicide first aid, as a medic, I feel confident with suicide first aid. I would always look for guidance if i was unsure from a mental health practitioner
Good course in general, but difficult to relate to practice because we are told to stick to a script and not deviate.
As a 111 call handler the content of the course, although very good, was not really relevant to my job role, i feel this could have been condensed and trained in the classroom by trainers. most of the content was aimed at clinical and patient facing employees. i feel a whole 8 hours on 1 subject is very excessive as a training session. will did present the course very well and was very knowledgeable, i just feel i haven't benefitted greatly from 8 hours of course time.
Very well delivered training, instructor was very friendly and made it enjoyable! Training with this stupid matter can sometimes leave you feeling heavy, however I left this training with a sense of hope for the future
I found this course very useful and it has given me confidence to approach someone who I felt might be having thoughts of suicide.
