Thank you Joy, for delivering such a difficult but helpful training session in such a human way and for helping us all feel at ease.
I think the statistics shocked me most as even though I have personal experience from 2 people in my family, it was very high. I liked the fact that it was made very clear how best to help and cleared up a lot of myths and misconceptions very clearly. I am only surprised that this is not mandatory throughout the council and also in schools, as the overall impression given was the best way to help lower these statistics was to talk about it and let everyone know it was not something to be ashamed of.
I feel I have learnt a lot about suicide intervention and how I can provide support. Lots of things to consider. Thankyou a great subject matter
I originally completed an online training session and the I.T was gfaulty so didn't feel I really completed the training - now I do! I prefer face to face training and more in Truro please!
I'm very glad that I attended this training course. It helped to break down barriers around a very tough, emotive subject. I know that I can now step up with much more confidence to help someone if needed.
