Great communication with the organisers who prompted me to get logged on with all the details required before the training

This course was absolutely brilliant, and I honestly feel it should be delivered to everyone - from Joe Bloggs to those especially within the police, GPs, emergency services and A&E staff, to help them really understand what it feels like when someone has suicidal thoughts and why, and the difference someone's time and conversation could make. I really cant stress enough how brilliant this course has been. I've had suicidal training through my own work and it has come nowhere close to this - its usually been a 'listen and get them the right help when needed' and you often feel like you just need to get them mental health support as you're not trained to help them. Now, I feel better equipped to provide that intervention rather than just picking up the phone (it's like learning how to do CPR until the ambulance arrives). Its really its given me a confidence and a solution to go further than just listening, and to not feel so helpless when you're with someone who tells you they want to take their life. We can all throw the life jacket!

At the end of this training I feel more confIdent and better equipped to talk to people about suicide and intervene if I feel a person has thoughts of suicide.

Following the course I now feel more able to recognise the signs and be able to give support to someone with suicide thoughts or behaviour.
