I am very grateful to have been offered this course. As a practitiomer for people with mental health issues I feel more confident to be able to handle a situation which might happen in one of my classes. The course was well presented with patience and understanding and it was good to hear from the other participants. There is a very long way to go in our understanding of mental health illnesses and their complexities and it is a good thing that more people are trained in the fundamental ways we can all be more aware and therefore more helpful.

Shell facilitated this course really professionally and was so personable. It's not easy teaching on-line, however, Shell created an environment for inclusive learning with a lovely energy and allowing discussions and thoughts to come out naturally.

Paul is an excellent facilitator of MHFA. His compassion and ability to engage the audience was exemplary, as well as his overall knowledge of the subjects at hand. Highly recommend.

Carol was so knowledge and passionate about this field and was very skilled in making sure everyone was engaged and supported throughout some really intense topics of conversation. The only criticism is that I would have liked a bit more time to engage in more discussions and reflections as there was so much to cover in such little time! Carol was an excellent facilitator and was able to share the wealth of knowledge and experiences she had with us to ensure we are equipped with the tools required to become mental health first aiders. She was also able to respond to a very diverse group of attenders ensuring that everyone's learning needs were met. I feel fuelled and motivated to take what I've learnt forward both in my personal life but also within my professional role!
Response : Hi Lisa, thank you so much for taking the time to give feedback - I really do appreciate it. I'm also grateful, for your engagement on both days with the material and with the group. Big thanks, Carol

I found having to do the modules and reading the MHFA manual thought provoking - in a good way - brought to life issues, terminology, approaches etc that I would have not considered before. It was humbling that some colleagues felt safe to open up about personal issues and this made certain points of the learning clearer to understand. Great instructors in Paul & Debbie who also stressed the importance of our own safety throughout the training.
