I had a good experience, and the tutor delivered the training clearly and as expected. I feel more confident recognising signs of suicidal thoughts and speaking to someone I am concerned about. The main improvement I would suggest is adding more applied examples and strengthening the supporting materials.

I would like to provide some positive feedback for Chris following the Suicide First Aid training delivered at Great Places. Chris delivered the course in a highly engaging and approachable way, creating a safe and supportive environment to explore what can be a very sensitive topic. The training was both informative and practical, equipping me with valuable skills for life. As a result of the session, I feel much more confident in recognising the signs that someone may be experiencing suicidal thoughts, and importantly, how to respond appropriately. Chris provided clear guidance on how to intervene in a compassionate and effective way, which has given me the confidence that I could potentially help to save a life. Overall, this was an extremely worthwhile and impactful training session, and I would highly recommend it to others.

I’m most appreciative of the myths and beliefs or misunderstood beliefs being broken down. It has allowed me to reflect that previous understanding was with the right intention but there are better ways to deliver and assist with suicide prevention.
