SFA01-Suicide First Aid Lite Reviews

It felt like a really accessible, calm and steady pace of teaching/learning. It's obviously a very heavy subject, but thankfully I didn't feel overwhelmed by the content or expectation of participation involved. I felt that the engagement level was appropriate given the course langth and for many, I assume after a day's work - it didn't feel too taxing despite the content.

Ben was thoughtful and accommodating, encouraging everyone to take care of themselves throughout the session and responding to questions with great care and sensitivity

Even though it is a difficult topic to learn it's so vitally important, I'm happy to have completed the course. I felt safe throughout and knew that if I needed to I could pause at anytime. I never felt I needed to as Ben was always calm, patient and supportive.

One thing that stood out to me, reflecting on my own experiences, is that knowledge alone isn’t always enough, true impact comes from how we engage with it in real situations. It reminded me that when someone is in a crisis, they often can’t take in information or ask for help clearly, so I’d like to practise applying what we learned in more real-life scenarios. For me, this awareness has grown over many years, but it’s always valuable to be reminded that sometimes people can’t say “SOS” outright, even if they need help urgently.

Thanks so much - you handled it really sensitively and it's a really useful skeleton structure

I feel much better equipped to carry out suicide prevention first aid if I ever had to after that session! Thank you
