Better than Team Teach as that was a bit too fiddly. I feel more confident than before.
An excellently delivered course, with a student-centred approach, underpinned by relevant psychological theory. The theory was easy for all to understand but staff were challenged to apply this to our school and students. Rachael was an outstanding deliverer; she was engaging, passionate and informative, with clear knowledge and understanding of the topics and skills required. Rachael engaged all on the course through various interactive activities and met the needs of the staff. Rachael has given me confidence to deliver restraints but also how to de-escalate students safely and calmly. All content was relevant for our school and Rachael’s relevant experience allowed staff to relate to her stories and examples. Everyone should do this course - whether you’re from a mainstream, private or SEN/SEMH school, a parent, a social worker or a youth worker. It really allows you to understand young people with trauma and behavioural difficulties and also the law involving restraints and physical contact with young people.

It was just so fascinating! Not once did I feel nervous, just really, really enjoyed it! Kirstie is in incredibly warm and friendly and knowledgeable- she’s an asset to Sherwood Training!!!
Really good knowledge behind behaviours- good emphasis on strategies that are least restrictive to be tried first. Course was not rushed, plenty of time to discuss and share ideas, Kirsty had a lot of anecdotal evidence that helped understanding
Rachael was very friendly, very open about issues and how to over come them. The support she provided us during the training was very helpful in terms of day to day work that involves pupils that may have challenging behaviours. Thank you Rachael😊
I really enjoyed the course. It gave a good understanding of Positive Behaviour Support. We had really good discussions about the topics being covered.
