RRN Level 3: Restrictive Physical Intervention reviews

4.9 (6,253 reviews)
AI summary of reviews

Practical, safety-focused learning is the course’s defining strength: attendees say it links clear theory on positive behaviour support, de-escalation, law, dignity and least-restrictive practice to step-by-step demonstrations, realistic scenarios and repeated practice. They value knowledgeable, patient and approachable trainers who use humour, lived experience and feedback to keep demanding subjects engaging, inclusive and easy to understand. The well-organised sessions build confidence that transfers directly to supporting children, patients and service users at work, although some find the theory lengthy.

Ben delivered an engaging, informative, and well-structured three-day RRN Level 3 Restrictive Physical Intervention Trainer induction. The training balanced theory with practical application, emphasising safety, legal and ethical responsibilities, trauma-informed practice, and least restrictive interventions. Ben created a supportive learning environment, encouraged participation, and provided constructive feedback throughout. I feel more confident in applying the techniques safely and delivering training in line with RRN standards. Overall, it was an excellent and valuable induction experience.

I have learnt a wealth of knowledge from Ben over the past three days. I was really nervous about being taught the physical side of the job, not thinking that I'd be able to restrain any person larger than myself, I feel very confident now after Ben has shared his expertise. Many thanks for a making the course interesting and engaging.

It was a productive course, as l have learnt how to restrain in a safer way for both me and the people we support. But restraining should be the last resort after trying other ways like redirecting verbally.
