The Customer Vulnerability team recently took part in resilience training delivered by the fantastic Helen Pettifer. The session was both engaging and insightful, helping us understand why resilience is so important when handling challenging and emotionally demanding calls. Helen shared plenty of practical techniques to help us spot stress, manage our emotions, and stay calm and professional under pressure. One of the highlights was creating our very own resilience boxes — which was great fun and gave everyone a chance to reflect on what helps them recharge and stay positive. The training showed how building resilience boosts wellbeing, confidence, and performance in a fast-paced environment. The skills and strategies we learned aren’t just useful at work; they can also be used in everyday life to manage stress, keep a healthy balance, and respond more positively to life’s challenges. Helen was an amazing trainer who created a relaxed, supportive atmosphere and delivered the session with warmth, empathy, and enthusiasm.

I thought the training was extremely helpful and very engaging and the length of the training was perfect. I think if it was shorter, key points could have been missed. I found this course very interesting it was like having a CBT counselling session. This was very much needed as i've been really vulnerable of late and needed to take steps to take control of my feelings and put everything into perspective. I needed to be reminded how to evaluate what i was going through, how to deal with it and how to move on. Really enjoyed the course. Helen was friendly and put the group at ease which in turn enabled us all to be very open and engage in group chats. Some other courses people quite literally clam up. The essence of the course was very interesting and opened my eyes to my own resilience levels. I gained a lot from it. Helen was very open, approachable, warm and friendly. I felt comfortable from the off to be able to be open and vulnerable with conversation. the activities were engaging and felt relevant to the conversation and topic. It was also good to learn and have a reminder of skills and tips to use within your own personal life.
