Got two people to demonstrate hoisting, they didn’t do it correctly (didn’t cross leg straps) which he explained, but didn’t show us how to do it correctly. Resuscitation was the only skill we practiced but was told not to do breaths (but he had antibacterial wipes available, so why not?) Fire training was over in 5mins.

Ityai was enthusiastic and prompt with starting, but sadly the practical CPR / hoist practice was rushed at the end of the session. It would’ve been much better to start the afternoon session with it and cover the slides after.

The training could not begin until 1.30 due to the original trainer not being available. No communication from the company, we had to chase up to find out what was happening and was then given conflicting stories. We were sitting around the hotel venue for over 4 1/2 hours until the replacement trainer arrived. Replacement trainer did a good job getting through all of the content but the lack of communication from the company was very poor.

The training was superb and the trainer made it interesting

Some of the statements made by trainer were quite misleading and contrary to our national guidelines. His commented many times that people in high places or bosses may be friends and raising complains may have repercussions.

Very loud session with argumentative group. Very challenge to follow along due to other candidates shouting and arguing. Did not really apply to my role (hospital) rather in a care facility.

I found the course to be very disorganized, and I believe much of this was due to the instructor’s approach. Unfortunately, the instructor’s conduct was unprofessional and, at times, disrespectful. The instructor frequently went off-topic, providing examples that were not relevant to the course material. Additionally, there was an incident where the instructor yelled at a fellow learners who briefly checked their phones to attend to family matters, using inappropriate language saying “ i don’t care who the hell you are”. The instructor’s tone was often condescending, and they did not allow for others to speak or if someone did they would argue with them . During practical demonstrations, such as chest compressions, the instructor did not allow for proper technique, such as failing to allow the chest to fully recoil, nor did they provide clear explanations—for example, on how to properly locate landmarks for compressions. Overall, I felt uncomfortable throughout the training, and I am disappointed, especially considering the cost of the course. I hope this feedback is taken seriously to improve the experience for future participants.
