Although a criminal Court appearance is unlikely in my current line of work, it is useful information and practice for giving evidence as an investigator at our independent judicial panel hearings. I found Kelly Thomas to be a very dynamic trainer - good and useful examples of how witnesses can be challenged in Court, how to best prepare to give evidence and practical matters prior to attending Court. I especially enjoyed the exercise at the end of the day - getting to practice cross-examination and being a witness under cross-examination. Well done.

A really beneficial two days, Jim was really engaging and I've left feeling I can really apply this learning to my work.

The course was very good and I learnt a lot from it. Especially as I am new to my role. I didn't know much about interviews before this and this course has really helped. Also by doing the role play it helps me to see how an interview was done.

Today, I learned that record keeping is important because it keeps information organised accurate and easy to access. It has a legal side as proper record keeping needs to adherence to the laws, prove compliance and protect myself and the organisation. Also we must store record safely keeping them for the required time and handle or dispose of them safely.
