Firstly, John is one of the BEST tutors I've ever had and I have studied up to Master's degree level at some of the top institutions in the UK. It's not just his vast knowledge on the subject areas we discussed today, but his high level of humanity and emotional intelligence. I hope to be able to do some qualitative research in the future with John, to help government develop policy on how we can combat youth crime, improve rehabilitation of offenders, and even protection of vulnerable people on our streets, such as young women, children, and adults with special needs or disabilities, but providing them with the conflict resolution skills necessary in order to avoid personal harm in their lives. I had knowledge about mediation before I did this course, but this was an incredible consolidation and new insight, filled with anecdotes and quantitative statistics of what works in the real world, and how we can implement conflict resolution in a somewhat highly volatile industry. Absolutely outstanding course, and I will highly recommend this to all of my colleagues and peers in the Civil Service, not just at the DWP. Well done, John. You have elevated the quality of our work coaches you trained today to a level we need to see rolled out throughout our national offices. Really interesting course and it was delivered really well - the trainer was really knowledgeable and he kept me focused and attentive. His language and tone were really good and the balance of course content and examples was spot on!
There is so many things discussed that I can take forward in my role and I will be recommending that my colleagues look at doing this course. Trainer John Khastar was brilliant, really knowledgeable and got everyone engaged with the training. I will use the Behavioural Influence Stairways Model to help me in my appointment when I need to resolve conflict or challenging conversations and also take forward the 5 step appeal when dealing with resistance.

Excellent course, really enjoyed the training, was a good as the last 'Court skills' training that Nick ran during lockdown. Really useful tips and advice, good pace, expert knowledge and relevant examples. I feel more confident, assured and knowledgeable in the core aspects of the course, thank you Nick!
