I have attended several training sessions around MCA and none have really been able to go into detail regarding fluctuating capacity, so today has been really useful. I am newly qualified so have been reading case law a lot, in particular KZ & Ors (2024) as I am supporting a person who is deaf. Sue has made me really understand all the different approaches that were decided in relation to fluctuating capacity (Longitudinal, anticipatory). Really well delivered as well. I felt comfortable to share and engage within the session. I liked that there weren't any breakout rooms (which is very common in training sessions now), but we could just have a nice flowing conversation with everyone (if they felt comfortable) to share their thoughts.

Well thought through workbook and exercises to allow understanding of others' reports and subsequent cross-examination

Thought John was able to change the content on the fly as to what we required. Helps when someone has good experience in the subject matter. General feedback: 1. not so long on introductions as it took longer to get into the session and grab my attention. 2. Hard doing these via teams but can i suggest that facing the camera is better as for those not able to hear as well sometimes need to read lips to follow everything, especially when at a reasonable fast pace.
