Well delivered but content is poor and outdated.
Much of the material was out of date or very old. Whole course needs refreshing. Trainers internet connection was poor, so videos were pixelated and lagging, massively impacting how the content came across to the delegates. Rachel was good. She could get a better webcam set up as video quality and positioning was poor.
The trainer was absolutely fine, but I did not find the training interesting or useful. The videos and content I have seen many times in other inductions and is very mundane and uninteresting. The videos and pictures generated that ask if you’ve seen a lake or a baby are unnecessary and have no relevance. Perhaps the hierarchy should invest more time on site with contractors and Thames operatives/engineers and experience lower level interactions. Gather information on everyday issues and experience first hand the implications of events and hardships. See the problems that arise everyday and the consequences that occur. See how operatives are tiered and overworked due to funding cuts and see how everyday operatives are having to problem solve and rectify varied issues with limited options/support. Then, process all of this and find a way to assist and inform better in the way of awareness, training and better well being for all levels of personnel.
No more useful information provided than any other generic H&S compliancy course.
Didn't like being on course with disruptive individuals from other companies and not been able to mute them.
Very poor quality visuals, serious pixilation, a number of screens unreadable - and no it wasn't my end, I checked the bandwidth soon after starting. Course content delivered quick fire tick box points. What PPE dress? Went through so quick, no repeat to underline I didn't pick up even the most elementary bit of info, minimum high viz to go on site. Shera? Do I fill that in? Course is very low on practical preparation. Not really sure what this was supposed to convey. This needs a radical overhaul, start with an objective because overall it was a mash of bits so superficial there was little of practical use.
Course not relevant to our works. Understand this is a blanket course, however time is money / productivity and somewhere this will need to be pulled back. Please make the course more relevant to the many, many streams Thames do. We as a company do so many courses. Those not relevant are quite damaging.
