The teacher Tim Morris as a exceptional understanding in this field, nothing is too much of a problem for him and very patient and helpful with his students. However I must say this is about Technique and not Tim they need to do more on the air-conditioning side of training. Yes they have air-conditioning units set up but as a student wanting to learn how to install air-conditioning units we did nothing in terms of installing them, nor did we install the pipe work behind the units and did no electrical work to get these machines working. You can be told endless information in a classroom but I paid to get HANDS ON experience which technique did not deliver so on that side of things I was let down. To get good in any job practice practice practice installing is the answer.

The possibility of fault finding o the course would be useful but course was aimed correctly building up knowledge.

Some pre course reading would be helpful. Simplified diagrams of inputs and outputs on ladder rung for easier revision. A basic programme or app to practice on after teaching hours.

course was good however coming from a non plc background it was difficult to get back into the programming mind from the last course I was also informed we would be working with process actuated systems using siemans plc (modern) which didnt come to light . all in all managed to scrape through

I think Keith should be able to complete the practical side of the course during the actual course over 6.5 days. The way it is done at the moment doesn't allow the practical test to be done in a timely manner (there are several months wait in Manchester!?!?). Also the practise test rigs are in no way reflective of the actual rig for the examination process causing a certain amount of anxiety for students and a higher potential to fail. I almost feel like this has been made overly complicated to increase re-test revenue. Keith as a tutor was enjoyable and friendly and was great at explaining badly worded questions so the student could determine the correct outcome.

Course provided a good overview of programming PLCs including the basic principles of logic and programming. There were aspects which were mentioned and not covered, i.e. use of the pneumatic rig to demonstrate PLC control. Elliot is very knowledgeable and very familiar with interfacing with PLCs and the software, which is the area I was most interested in. I did have a question relating to a PLC I am familiar with regarding BTW, BTR commands in Allen Bradley which he was unfamiliar with. Some aspects of the course were, in my eyes, taught in quite confusing way, for example number base systems. The lunch was okay for myself but nothing special. One of my colleagues however had his dietary requirements disregarded on two separate occasions.

Very good course, I was happy with the basics early on and would of liked to explore more complex areas of the program if time allowed. Elliot was very helpful throughout.

I enjoyed this course but I think personally i might have needed more training to fully understand the subject.
