Overall, I recognise the importance of this topic and the value of ensuring staff receive consistent training. However, as I already have a strong level of knowledge in this area, I did not gain any new learning or insights from the session. I felt that a significant amount of the content, particularly the videos, would have been better incorporated into the e-learning. The videos accounted for over an hour of the face-to-face session, and the first 20-minute video featuring Paula had already been included in the e-learning, making it repetitive. For me, the greatest value of face-to-face training is the opportunity to hear lived experiences, engage in discussion, and explore real-world application. Much of the session involved working through slides and watching videos, which could have been completed independently beforehand. While I appreciate the importance of including people with lived experience in the delivery of this training, I felt this aspect could have been used more effectively. A face-to-face session provides an excellent opportunity to expand beyond the slides, encourage meaningful discussion, and share personal insights that add depth and context to the learning experience.
