The facilitator was very enthusiastic and engaging. The study day was really interesting and useful and can practically put some of the learning into practice. I enjoyed it so much that I would have liked to have spent longer on some of the areas which I will now do in my own time. For example learning more about the Clifton strengths finder.

It was well run and engaging. Definitely worth doing. The location and entry to various online resources would be better if centralised.

While the break out rooms were good for meeting other course attendees and understanding the diversity of backgrounds and experience, it would have been good to have the opportunity to have a bit more continuity with other candidates. This may happen over the course but I found it unhelpful to find myself 'bubbled' at the end with someone I hadn't met in a break out room earlier in the day and so have no feel for how we may be able to support each other. Rachael was a very personable facilitator presenting the concepts in a clear and understandable way

Together, all the topics which was covered in module one has helped me to to step up and be mature as a leader. They guide me toward building a team culture rooted in trust, compassion, and shared growth a place where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to bring out best my selves together.

I found the day really stimulating and engaging with lots of food for thought. It was fast paced, which was really good on one level but did not provide much room for concentration lapses or to try to access background materials while on the course (eg questionnaire reports from questionnaires completed before the day). A comment on the Conversation Café model - as a speech and language therapist I wonder if this may place undue pressure on staff with any communication impairment, or who are neurodivergent. One needs to be mindful that sometimes such difficulties can be well masked (eg someone with a history of stammering). Likewise neurodivergent staff may get very anxious awaiting their turn and as such may be unable to actively listen to others' input whilst they await their turn. Staff in this position may not have the confidence to or wish to divulge some of these difficulties.

Occasionally break out room timing too long, but not always - you will never win!

perhaps this will be covered more on the course, but more theory about leadership, maybe even direct instruction on how to do things well would be appreciated - my own reflections on things may only get me so far!

Paul lead the session at a great pace and added breaks where needed. Despite the course taking a good few hours, it managed to keep engaging throughout. The group working was well done and the tasks were clearly explained when being put into breakout room activities.
