Quite a lot of the recommended websites were no longer in use. Being overseas access to English library facilities non existent, and so buying books to read proves expensive, and difficult to decide which would be the most useful, impossible to buy all that are recommended reading, obviously. I am pleased that I have been able to complete a counselling diploma whilst being in France, but can see why there are so few options to do these courses online. I feel that it is necessary to have class room sessions to discuss and work through subjects. Online studying of these subjects has its limits.
When I first received the coursework I wondered if I had bitten off more than I could chew! I read the information several times and each module was explained really well. Once I got into the course I really enjoyed it and found the experience really enjoyable. I'm an older student, being mid fifties, and I was a wee bit apprenhensive but everything you need is contained in the course material. Fantastic.
All the manuals are very well organized. As you progress with the course you realize that all is thought to make sense and you are gaining knowledge and skills adding to the one you already have. All the Practice Exercises, Self Development Exercises, Activities and Assignments are invaluable to put theory in practice and get confident in using the skills in different scenarios and diagnosis.
I had some prior knowledge and experience of CBT but these materials took me that much further in my learning. The exercises were fantastic and really helped to consolidate the learning. They encouraged me to think through and learn what was being taught. There was a lot of information packed into each lesson.
The structure and design of the course content and material was clear and well laid out in the presentation which facilitated a deep understanding of CBT. The course material from the cert to the dip, was clearly linked and build upon making the wealth of information less daunting.
