Description
This course is ideal for those new to advanced-level resuscitation or seeking a thorough refresher. It is a two-day intensive, hands-on programme focused on improving your ability to manage medical emergencies, make critical decisions, and lead effectively under pressure.
The course combines theory and practical skills in the management of cardio-respiratory arrest, peri-arrest situations, and special circumstances. Mapped to the RCUK ALS guidelines, it prepares senior members of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver effective life support during emergencies until transfer to a critical care setting is possible.
Candidates are continuously assessed through clinical simulations over the two-day period. Concluding with a multiple choice question based assessment and each candidate being observed leading a practical cardiac arrest simulation.
This course comprises of expert blend of theory + immersive practical sessions and expands on existing knowledge of Immediate Life Support (ILS) including:
Airway management skills
ECG recognition
Rapid, safe defibrillation, using an AED or a manual defibrillator
