Customer story: University of Dayton

The University of Dayton’s lifelong learning programme provides peer-led learning opportunities for adults aged 50 and over. It runs more than 100 seminars each term and around 350 a year, delivered by close to 200 volunteer instructors.

Goal

Before using Coursecheck, we used Qualtrics to collect feedback, which involved manually setting up surveys and analysing the results for each seminar. With more than 100 seminars each term, this was time-consuming, and accessing historic feedback when planning future courses and selecting instructors was also difficult.

We wanted a simple, affordable way to reduce the administration involved and make our feedback easier to access and use.

Results

  • Around 80% less administration: Across the 350 seminars we run each year, this could save us over 100 hours of administration annually.
  • Immediate visibility of feedback: Automated alerts mean we can quickly identify any concerning feedback and see if there is something we need to address.
  • Easy access to historic feedback: Our curriculum research team can quickly review previous feedback on instructors and topics when making decisions about future seminars.
  • Better-informed instructor development: We use feedback to identify areas where our instructors and moderators may need additional support and to help shape our ongoing training.
  • More targeted reporting: We can filter and export feedback by question, making it easy to analyse seminar and program-level feedback separately and share relevant insights with our curriculum team and advisory council for strategic planning.
Coursecheck has made our feedback process so much simpler, cutting the admin time per seminar by around 80%. We can see feedback straight away and easily access the insights we need to help plan future seminars and support our instructors.
