About this course
This programme is adapted from the Flux Institute's 5-day Introduction to Commodities & Energy Trading pathway, condensed to 2 days and re-focused for a bunker fuel and diesel trading desk.
The priority is practical hedging: how physical bunker and gasoil positions translate into derivative hedges, how to size and structure a hedge, and how to manage basis risk between physical bunker grades and the futures/swaps used to hedge them.
What you will learn
Given the desk's ~1 year of experience, Day 1 builds the fundamentals needed to hedge with confidence (market structure, pricing, and derivative mechanics) before moving into hedge design.
Day 2 opens with shorter, applied overviews of technical analysis, trader psychology, and AI-assisted back-testing, then closes with a hands-on introduction to Flux data (including a free trial walkthrough) and an applied hedging workshop using live bunker and diesel scenarios.
