The course content was conceptually useful, but the delivery made it difficult to follow and fully engage with. The course relied heavily on reference to materials within the online learning hub. Essentially the Excellence in Written Evidence PDF was read out. The was frequent referencing and review of the Rules, Practice Directions and Guidance pdf. This constant toggling disrupted my concentration and made it harder to absorb and retain information. There was limited use of practical examples and no model reports, which would have helped to illustrate key points and reinforce learning. I was surprised that Bond Solon did not provide standardised examples (of good or bad) reports for us to review. Instead, you relied on submissions. One of which was a fictitious report for the CUBS course and another was an examination of a child report. The session would have benefited from a more structured multimedia approach, such as a presentation or slides grouping related legal frameworks (e.g. Civil, Family, and Criminal Procedure Rules) together with consistent visual references. This would make the material easier to follow and actually internalise and learn. Overall, while the content was valuable and relevant, the delivery could be improved significantly. Better use of resources and the inclusion of prepared examples to support learning outcomes. I expected a more polished experience given Bond Solon’s reputation.
