comprehensive programme is designed to give Managers an opportunity to explore how to
successfully manage sickness absence with confidence whilst adhering to HR law.

What you will learn

Day 1: 3.5 hour workshop:
• Understand the ‘real’ cost of absence and keeping absence at the lowest possible
levels
• Managing Absence within the law. Identifying the difference between short term
and long term absence
• Company policies and procedures and applying them at work
• Risks and mitigations of ER outcomes/decisions
• Likely potential if case is taken further; what could happen next?

Day 2: 3.5 hour workshop:
• Identifying good practice in Return to Work Interviews
• Identify and analyse individual responses to a range of relevant cast studies
• Confidentiality and discretion in managing cases. Awareness of data subject
access request

Format:
• Online Tutor led for up to 8 participants
• 2 x 3.5 hour (half day ) workshop across different days
