MRPII

Description

The core to effective Management Planning and Control is the successful implementation of MRPII/ERP and Supply Chain Management. This course presents the evolution of these planning processes from the 60’s through today, integrating the concepts of Lean Production. The course is a general introduction and is aimed at everyone in the business.

What you will learn

By the end of this course learners will:
Appreciate the objectives of organisations and
MRPII/ERP's potential contribution to achieving them.
Become aware of the evolution of MRPII/ERP from
traditional inventory replenishment /order point theory;
why order point was replaced by material requirements
planning; understand the basic logic of MRP; the
evolution to MRPII and its shortcomings that led to ERP.
Approach the supply chain management concept and
the breadth of what this can cover
Understand the essence of lean/just in time (JIT) and
how this complements MRPII/ERP.
