This course is for support staff who will be responsible for the minute taking in safeguarding adults meetings. The key to the course is providing participants with the confidence to conduct their role effectively. Therefore, this one day course provides a blend of underpinning knowledge about safeguarding adults processes and the space to practice the skills in a simulated meeting;
The course is underpinned by the National Safeguarding Adults Competencies Framework and other relevant standards.
In the afternoon, we simulate a safeguarding meeting with actors, allowing all delegates the opportunity to practice minute taking.
The Care Act 2014 places adult safeguarding on a clear statutory footing, with the Government setting out national standards and expectations about how those at risk of abuse and neglect should be supported and safeguarded. This training programme is fully informed by and embraces the content of the Act and the statutory guidance that is currently (June 2014 – August 2014) under consultation.
